Der Standish Shiraz 2023 ist ein majestätischer und tiefschwarzer Wein mit dunkelvioletten Reflexen, der sich kraftvoll im Glas präsentiert.

Seine äußerst komplexen Aromen von reifen Himbeeren, Brombeeren, dunklen Pflaumen und feinem Lakritz werden von dunklen Schokoladenraspeln und dezenten Gewürznoten begleitet. Tiefgründige Elemente von leicht getoasteter Eiche mit feinstem Vanilleextrakt und erdigen Nuancen machen diesen Wein zu einem wahren Erlebnis.

Am Gaumen zeigt er sich verführerisch reichhaltig und fluffig, entwickelt aber eine zunehmend robuste Tanninstruktur, die den Gaumen vollständig erfasst. Noten von Himbeeren, Brombeeren, dunklen Pflaumen und Schokolade bilden den kraftvollen Kern, begleitet von rauchigem Zedernholz und Vanille. Eine feine Mineralität und orientalische Gewürze runden das Geschmackserlebnis gekonnt ab. Der Standish Shiraz ist von einer herausragenden Intensität und Tiefe geprägt und vereint dies mit einer graziösen Eleganz.

Ein Wein, der mit Sicherheit ein langes Leben vor sich hat und mit großer Freude auch zu ganz besonderen Anlässen genossen werden kann.

"The 2023 The Standish Shiraz is the most "Barossan" of all the Standish cuvées. It exudes earthy brick dust tannins and layers sumac and exotic spices with roasted game and sweet marrow. There are notes of black cherry, dried rose petals, sandalwood, hung deli meat and licorice, all of it strapped to rails of grounded tannin. It's chewy, substantial and of the earth, in its way. The fruit is sourced from the Laycock family vineyard in Greenock, as always, and it expresses the red clay and loam soils there in its splay of tannic fortitude and density. This is very impressive. It is fresh yet meaty/rocky—both attractive qualities in Shiraz/Syrah. 14.9% alcohol, sealed under natural cork." - Wine Advocate
