Der „Love Over Gold Grenache“ wird aus ein paar wenigen Reihen exzellenter Trauben des höchsten Blocks in der Höhenlage des Eden Valley produziert. Einer der höchstgelegenen Grenache-Weine in ganz Südaustralien (545 m). 1997 gepflanzt, reift dieser Buschreben-Grenache sehr langsam und wurde von Hand geerntet. Die extrem begrenzte und nicht mehr als 463 kg schwere Ernte wurde entrappt und in einen 1-Tonnen-Fermenter gefüllt. Sanftes Umpumpen und langsame Extraktion. Nur der Freilaufwein wurde in ein einziges 3 Jahre altes französisches 225L Eichenfass gefüllt und dort für 18 Monate bis zur Marktreife ausgebaut und anschließend freigegeben.

Jahresproduktion 2021: lediglich 300 !! Flaschen

"The 2021 Love Over Gold Grenache is fine-boned, febrile and pretty, with layers of blood and iodine, plum skin and licorice. The tannins are embossed into the fruit and are incredibly pliable and malleable in the mouth. This is not a big expression of Grenache, and some may argue it isn't "big" enough for Grenache—but not me. This remains true to variety with an abundance of graphite tannin and a mineral, cooling finish. The fruit is not overly sweet; it is balanced by an exotic pink peppercorn/pastrami/sumac character. What a wine! A big, mineral YES." - Wine Advocate

I was impressed by its reticence to move at all in the first couple of days and was interested to see the color in direct sunlight on the third day—a cloudy, dark pink in the glass.
